This Pays d’Oc is more complex and layered than a wine of this price range has any reason to be. Consistently award winning year on year, this is a must try for anyone visiting the mighty Co-Op. Deep purple black colour with concentrated black fruits (Blackcurrant, black cherry), mingling with licorice, herbs and a hint of toast on the nose. Fresh but concentrated inky black fruits (blackcurrant, plum) and a thick vein of charcoal minerality winding through, before a herb laden (thyme/bay) and long toasty finish, which draws to close with a spike of dark chocolate to see it off. £5.99 on offer or 6.99 full price; either way a bargain.
