Pale yellow with a honeyed ‘waxy’ citrus aroma, full/textured body and a fresh acidity to balance. This is a weighty wine with real depth to it; while still managing to be fruit driven and bright rather than confected or bogged down by oaky characteristics. Waxy lemon zest and a hint of freshly cracked almonds build on the palate before crashing like a wave and slowly reseeding to a smidge of salty sea spray. A real exercise in beguiling layers texture over layers of fruit character or secondary characteristics. Currently £5.49 on offer (£7.99 full price) from the Mighty Co-op.
