Certain grape varieties only really come into there own when their vines are old and producing in small quantities… Garnacha or Grenache as it’s known in France is one of them. This wine is bright but dark translucent red in colour with a vibrant blackcurrant and raspberry aroma. Medium bodied but with intense fruit on the palate, well integrated tannins and a clear but balanced acidity. Develops into a full, smoky dark chocolate finish that remains fresh until the end. Haven’t tasted a wine this good in a while… period. A great showcase for Garnacha wines and how much of a difference ‘old vines’ can make to a grape variety. Currently available from Majestic Wines for only £8.49 a bottle (with 2 or more bottles in your case).
